Four teams remain in the 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs, and it remains Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) as the big favorite to win the title. Let’s take a look at the updated MLS Cup Playoffs betting odds and preview the two matches to come this week.
Welcome to OddsBoom. We're the home of odds comparison at legal online sportsbooks in the USA. We scan sportsbook odds constantly in New Jersey, Pennslyvania, Indiana, West Virginia, Illinois, Tennessee, Michigan, Virginia and Colorado to find the best odds available, allowing you to win more! When Major League Soccer announced in early 2017 that it was expanding from 24 to 28 franchises, the prospects didn’t look good for a Las Vegas team. The odds are vastly improved.
After entering the last round at even money to win the MLS Cup, LAFC has moved to -160 at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. At DraftKings Sportsbook out of New Jersey, LAFC is -182. At FanDuel Sportsbook, they’re -175. That puts LAFC as the very clear favorite over the rest of the field, and rightfully so. They’re the top overall seed, they were the best team in the regular season by far, and the other conference’s No. 1 seed, NYCFC, was knocked out already.
At the Westgate, Atlanta United FC is the second favorite with odds of +300. Atlanta United FC is also the second favorite at DraftKings and FanDuel, listed at +275 and +380, respectively.

2019 MLS Cup Conference Finals Preview
Western Conference
No. 1 LAFC vs. No. 2 Seattle Sounders FC
Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 10 p.m. ET
Banc of California Stadium
Los Angeles, CA
Although they’re taking on the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, LAFC is a big favorite to advance to the MLS Cup. At Westgate, they’re -260 to win in 90 minutes plus stoppage time, with Seattle as a +600 underdog. It should help LAFC that they’re more rested, having played only one game so far. That was a 5-3 victory over rival LA Galaxy. Seattle has had two contests already, first taking care of FC Dallas 4-3 and then beating Real Salt Lake 2-0.
Las Vegas Odds Mls Soccer
LAFC’s win over the LA Galaxy was a very big step for the club. It’s the first time they beat them, if you can believe that, but it came at the right time. While it should give LAFC plenty of confidence going forward, the highly emotional match might have some lingering effects. Don’t be surprised to see LAFC advance past Seattle, as the betting odds would have you anticipate, but also don’t be surprised to see them start slow with a little bit of a hangover from the LA Galaxy match.
Where LAFC could run into problems would be with Seattle’s defense. The LA Galaxy don’t really have a defense. If you watched the match, you know what we’re talking about. The Sounders will be much, much better in the back, and this will be the key to Seattle advancing. If Seattle wants to play for the MLS Cup, it’s going to need to shut down Carlos Vela and company. The Sounders held Real Salt Lake to no goals and just a single shot on goal in the last round. While it’s unlikely they repeat that same performance, this should give you an idea of the defensive ability the Sounders bring to the pitch.
We’ll also be watching Raul Ruidiaz closely. He’s yet to face LAFC since joining the MLS. Although Seattle has played LAFC before, Ruidiaz was out with an injury both times. Jordan Morris is also a key player for Seattle. He exploded with a hat trick in the Sounders opening playoff game against FC Dallas, but then he failed to find even a shot on goal in the team’s second playoff game when they went against Real Salt Lake. In addition to the defense and Ruidiaz, Morris is going to need to perform well if Seattle wants to advance. It’s not necessary that he scores, but he’s going to have to find opportunities and make the LAFC defense work.
In the end, we expect LAFC to have more firepower at home, where they have an incredible record and it proves one of the toughest places to play in the MLS.
Eastern Conference
No. 2 Atlanta United FC vs. No. 4 Toronto FC

Vegas Odds Mls Tournament
In the Eastern Conference, it’s the reigning champions, Atlanta United FC, taking on Toronto FC in what should be a very entertaining match. Both of these teams are playing their best soccer at the right time, especially Toronto FC. The betting odds have the home team, Atlanta United FC, as the favorite. They’re priced at -130 to win in 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Toronto FC is +325 underdogs.
Atlanta United FC has had the easier road to the MLS Cup Conference Finals. They had an easy game in the opener against the New England Revolution, although they did not play great, and then made fairly easy work of the Philadelphia Union 2-0 in the second round. The defending champions of the MLS Cup are hitting stride and they get home field, but Toronto FC will not be a pushover.
A big blow to Atlanta United FC’s squad is the loss of defender Miles Robinson. He’ll be out of this match with a hamstring injury. Robinson is one of the best defenders in the league. Robinson was out for the match against Philadelphia, but the Union don’t offer the same firepower that Toronto does, so this will be a different type of beast to tame. It’s also worth noting that Robinson’s fill-in, Michael Parkhurst, got hurt against Philadelphia with a shoulder injury. If he’s unable to go, that’s one good starting defender and then his fill-in missing.
Mls Vegas Odds
Josef Martinez, Atlanta’s top forward, will need to perform better. Toronto has been playing well on both ends of the field, scoring when they need to and keeping opposing teams at bay. If Toronto can key in on Martinez and Martinez isn’t up to the task, it could be a very long 90 minutes for Atlanta.
Ultimately, we like Toronto FC to advance. Sure, they’re underdogs in this one, but they have plenty of experience and are playing as well as anybody left. They just went into New York and took out the No. 1 seed in the conference and we expect a similar sort of performance in this one. Toronto could also be a decent late buy for an MLS Cup futures bet. At +800 at Westgate, we’d be willing to take it knowing that we like them to advance past Atlanta.
