The Philadelphia Eagles overcame a slow start to win the NFC East in 2019, but they did so with a pedestrian 9-7 record. They were then promptly bounced from the first round of the NFL playoffs due to a Carson Wentz injury.
In theory, the Eagles remain a well-coached, deep team that is capable of the very magic they displayed during their 2018 title run.
The Eagles were listed at 14-1 on Thursday to win the Super Bowl at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. The New England Patriots, at 6-1, are the consensus favorite for a third straight season, with. The Eagles carry the second-best odds to win the NFC East behind the Dallas Cowboys. They also have the fifth-best odds to win the NFC and the seventh-best odds to win Super Bowl 55. The Eagles certainly have the talent to win not only their division but the NFC and possibly a Super Bowl as well. Let’s take a look at the NFC East to break down each team's Super Bowl and division odds: Dallas Cowboys +3000 (PointsBet Sportsbook) The Cowboys are currently the favorites at +100 to win the.
Carson Wentz, if healthy, is as talented as any other quarterback in football. The question, of course, is if the Eagles really have enough to go on a 2021 Super Bowl run.
Let’s see what the oddsmakers say and build a case for Philly going all the way this year.

BetOnline is the best site to bet on the Eagles at the moment, as their +2500 Super Bowl odds are both alluring and palatable.
Philly isn’t exactly a favorite to win the title in 2021, but their odds rank 10th out of 32 teams. With a healthy Wentz leading the charge and a solid draft class added to the roster, bettors can’t sleep on Philadelphia this season.
You can still go either way on the Eagles, which prompts a look from both sides before placing any bets.
Eagles Odds To Win Super Bowl 54
It all starts with Wentz. He looked like a legit league MVP just a couple of seasons ago. A knee injury robbed him of likely Super Bowl-winning glory, and he’s faced undeserving criticism ever since.
Eagles Odds To Win Super Bowl 2017
As if Nick Foles could ever hope to give the Eagles a better long-term chance than this guy. Wentz’s thing is consistency and health. If he can stay on the field and play to his potential, the sky’s the limit for him and this franchise.
The nice thing is Wentz will have help. Miles Sanders looks the part of a stud running back, Zach Ertz is still one of the most reliable tight ends in the NFL, and the Eagles invested some draft picks in a loaded receiver class.
Defensively, the Eagles still remain very talented. The Eagles ranked 3rd against the run in 2019 and 13th in sacks. If their pass defense can be a little better, this could honestly be one of the most complete teams in the league.
Why the Eagles Won’t Win Super Bowl 55
There are some big problems for the Eagles. The first is Wentz, who is understandably often hurt at the wrong times or turns into the worst version of himself.
Wentz is likely the reason why the Eagles win it all if they do, but he also could be the precise thing that keeps them from the promised land. The dark cloud that is Jalen Hurts hanging over him may not help matters, either.
Another big issue is Philly’s secondary. They lost two talented players in free agency, and this unit was not great in 2019 (19th against the pass, 11th-most passing touchdowns allowed).
Odds Eagles Win Super Bowl 2019
That could all be compounded by the fact that it feels like the Dallas Cowboys will win the NFC East this season. If so, the Eagles will have to earn a wild card bid and prove these fatal flaws, well, aren’t so fatal.
Sadly, my 2020 Eagles prediction does not include them hoisting the Lombardi Trophy for the second time ever. That doesn’t mean they aren’t totally capable of doing it, though.
Until proven otherwise, the NFC East could still be Philly’s to lose. The Giants and Redskins remain trash, and Dallas has to prove all of their big moves will translate.
The Eagles have a lot of veterans with Super Bowl experience, and when healthy, Wentz is a legit gamer that can lift this offense up. Still, the NFC is pretty loaded, and I’m not convinced the Eagles will be improved enough in their secondary to consistently top other teams.
Eagles fans can still bet on their team to win the division and make the playoffs. Winning the Super Bowl isn’t out of the question; I just won’t be picking Philadelphia to do it in 2021.
